Hopefully this report will help us build a law that limits the damages of DRMs. But French gouvernement is strongly pushing DRM.</description>

		<description>There have been other Parliamentary Committee recommendations that have been ignored by the Government. I wouldn&#039;t be surprised to see these recommendations fail. Unlike Singapore, Minister Vaile has already caved into the US Trade Rep once; I fail to be convinced that he&#039;ll make much of a stand this time around, especially since the FTA has already been agreed to.

It has been said that US copyright law is getting out of balance because members of Congress are exposed to industry lobbying more than consumer concerns. But the fact that the USTR is pushing even more extensive controls makes me feel as though he understands consumer concerns, but doesn&#039;t care. I guess that&#039;s too be expected: he&#039;s a trade rep, not a consumer affairs rep...</description>
